Health Savings & Spending Accounts
We believe financial health is just as important as physical health. The FSA and HSA plans we offer through Equity Bank are powerful tools designed to help you save on taxes while covering essential health and dependent care expenses.
By setting aside pre-tax dollars, you reduce your taxable income, giving you more spending power throughout the year. Whether you’re planning for routine medical costs, saving for the future, or budgeting for childcare, these accounts are key to helping your money work harder for you.

HSA vs. FSA
What is a Health Savings Account?
An HSA is a tax-sheltered bank account that you own to pay for eligible healthcare expenses for you and/or your eligible dependents for current or future healthcare expenses.
The Health Savings Account (HSA) is yours to keep, even if you change jobs or medical plans. There is no “use it or lose it” rule; your balance carries over year to year.
*You must be enrolled in a High-Deductible Health Plan (HDHP, also referred to as an HSA medical plan) and meet the eligibility requirements, the IRS allows you, to open and contribute to an HSA Account.
Check out the HSA 2026 document for more plan details and the 2026 maximum contribution limits.
| 2026 Maximum HSA Contributions | ||
|---|---|---|
| Inidividual | $4,400 | |
| Family (2 or more) | $8,750 | |
| Age 55+ catch-up | Additional $1,000 | |
What is a Flexible Spending Account?
*You must be enrolled in the PPO or Coupe Health plan.
A Flexible Spending Account (FSA) plan allows you to set aside pre-tax dollars to cover qualified expenses you would normally pay out of your pocket with post-tax dollars.
The plan is comprised of a healthcare spending account and a dependent care account. You pay no federal or state income taxes on the money you place in an FSA. The IRS has a strict “use it or lose it” rule. If you do not use the funds in your FSA, you will lose any remaining funds, except for the allowed rollover limit amount.
Check out the FSA 2026 document for more plan details that include an explanation of differences between a medical FSA and a Dependent Care FSA, 2026 maximum election limits and rollover limits.
| 2026 Maximum FSA Contributions | ||
|---|---|---|
| Healthcare FSA | $3,400 | |
| Dependent Care FSA | $7,500 | |
